The best car in the history of the World Rally Championship (WRC)

 

The best car in the history of the World Rally Championship (WRC) is a matter of opinion, but some of the most successful and iconic cars in the series include:

1. Lancia Delta Integrale
2. Subaru Impreza WRX
3. Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution
4. Toyota Celica GT-Four
5. Ford Escort RS Cosworth

These cars have won multiple WRC events and championships, and are regarded by many as some of the best rally cars of all time.

1. Lancia Delta Integrale: 

A compact, 4 wheel drive hatchback produced by Italian automaker Lancia. The Integrale was highly successful in the WRC, winning six consecutive manufacturers' championships from 1987 to 1992.

 

2. Subaru Impreza WRX

A compact sports car produced by Japanese automaker Subaru. The WRX was introduced as a performance version of the Impreza, and has become one of the most recognizable rally cars in the world, winning multiple WRC events and championships.

 

3. Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution:

 A high performance sports sedan produced by Japanese automaker Mitsubishi. The Lancer Evolution was introduced as a homologation special to allow Mitsubishi to compete in the WRC, and has since become one of the most successful rally cars in the series, with multiple WRC event wins and championships.

 

4. Toyota Celica GT-Four:

 A sports car produced by Japanese automaker Toyota. The Celica GT-Four was developed specifically for rally competition, and was highly successful in the WRC, winning multiple events and the drivers' championship in 1999.

 

5. Ford Escort RS Cosworth:

 A compact sports car produced by British automaker Ford. The Escort RS Cosworth was developed for rally competition, and was one of the most successful rally cars of the 1990s, winning multiple WRC events and helping Ford to win the manufacturers' championship in 1996.

These cars are all regarded as some of the best rally cars of all time, and continue to be popular with motorsport fans and collectors today.
